SPOT™

Description

SPOT™ is a 'Secure Parallel Optical Transceiver' that features a rugged low-profile design, electrically pluggable interface, and separable MT ferrule. This pluggable transceiver is a 4Tx/4Rx Parallel 850nm VCSEL and PIN based device. This part uses an industry standard ruggedized electrical QSFP card-edge connector, and has superior optical performance vs. industry standard. SPOT includes SFF-8436 MSA compliant pinout and diagnostics. A key element to this part is the MT-R “clamp” which has a separable and secure means of holding the MT ferrule in place in rugged operating environments. An innovative system called the FDS™ (Ferrule Detection Sensor) indicates whether the MT ferrule is connected. This part is designed for mid-board connections.
