SPOT-MB™

Description

SPOT-MB™ is a 'Secure Parallel Optical Transceiver' that features a rugged low-profile design, electrically pluggable interface, and removable MT ferrule. This part is designed for mid-board connections. This part uses an industry standard ruggedized electrical QSFP card-edge connector A key element to this part is the MT-R “clamp” is a secure means of holding the MT ferrule in place during operation. The ferrule and the optical fiber are not permanently installed. SPOT-MB doesn’t require any special tools to install. This reduces the total cost of ownership.

This pluggable transceiver has 4TX and 4RX optical channels operating at 850nm with a VCSEL and PIN photodiode. SPOT-MB includes an SFF-8636 MSA compliant control and diagnostic monitor interface. Channels are independently rate selectable between 1Gbps and 10Gbps with a max aggregate data rate of 40Gbps. IEEE 802.3 performance per 1000BASE-SX, 10GBASE-SR, and 40GBASE-SR4. Securely screw mounted for high shock and vibe environments. (Power usage & heatsink) Parylene coating option for further ruggedization.
