MT cable assemblies can be used in Moog transceivers with MT interfaces using MPO/MTP connectors or proprietary retention methods. Many systems use high-speed high-density MT cable assemblies to route fiber through small, confined spaces where multiple discrete jacketed fibers may not be ideal. The fibers can then be fanned out to individual fiber connectors for discrete channel transceivers or through multiple bulkhead connectors.
High Density or HD Fiber is an example of a fiber optic cable that has several distinct fiber optic strands housed within a single outer jacket. These fiber cables come in flat or round ribbon jacketing options. This compact fiber cable solution is available in singlemode or multimode and can be constructed to carry various fiber count options and variations. This allows a higher bandwidth of data to be transferred while utilizing less space than a simplex fiber optic cable.
Moog can build custom MT cable assemblies/High Density cable assemblies using mil/aero grade components. Moog uses industry standard practices and familiarity with various manufacturers to achieve any design goal. Some design build capabilities include:
- Creation of fiber assemblies for Mil/Aero use with In-house design and manufacturing capabilities
- Utilizing IEC 61754-7 compliant Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) MT Ferrules in 1×12, 2×24, etc. configurations [APC]
- Test Sets and Testing Labs on sight at Moog Facility
- Field Deployment and Support
- Custom Signal Routing
- Mil/Aero or customer defined testing
- Mil/Aero or customer defined labelling
- Bare or jacketed fiber types in flat or round ribbon configurations with multiple vendor options
- Single or multi-channel jumpers with optical multiplexors and/or optical splitters
- Discrete Channel Breakouts
