SPOT-MB™ AND SPOT-CE™

The SPOT product platform is comprised of two Secure Pluggable Optical Transceivers, SPOT-MB and SPOT-CE SPOT-MB is a parallel optical transceiver for Mid-Board applications, whereas SPOT-CE is used in Card-Edge applications. Both transceivers are 8 channel devices with 4Tx and 4Rx channels operating at 850nm, 1/10/40Gbps data rates SX/SR standard. . The platform uses an a high-tolerance industry standard QSFP electrical connector, which mates with a 1-28Gbps surface mount receptacle. This enables easy installation without any external tools required and upgradable to the 10/28Gbps version of SPOT-MB/SPOT-CE that are in development. the optical interfaces allow for separable optical fiber installation, allowing for ease of repair of damaged fiber. This reduces cost of ownership, because the fiber is separate from the transceiver (move to after 2^nd sentence). Evaluation boards are available from Moog | COTSWORKS or using industry standard QSFP ports on FPGA boards or QSFP boards with the cage de-soldered.
