Moog is releasing its Singlemode (SM) Transmitter Optical Sub-Assembly (TOSA) platform for customers requiring a USA sourced and manufactured Optical Sub-Assemblies (OSAs) and/or transceivers. Starting with a configurable 1310nm version, this TOSA offers several output power specifications meeting multiple IEEE standards at speeds of 1 Gbps to 25 Gbps over industrial temperature operation. A monitor diode is included in the all-metal housing which is shorter than industry standard allowing for the use in form factors like SFPs. The Moog TOSA utilizes a high-performance DFB laser which has variants at 1270nm, 1310nm, and 1330nm for CWDM4 compliant platforms. A 1550nm DFB version and FP versions at 1310nm and 1550nm will be developed and released later this year. A list of Moog transceivers utilizing this TOSA will be published. These TOSAs are available for sale in rugged connector based media converters and switches or OEM products where the optics are directly on board.
